Aaron Swick

Co-Director / Batterie Caption Head / Visual Tech

Aaron is one of the co-founders of Motor City Percussion and has served as the Assistant Director, Batterie Caption Head, and Visual Tech since Motor City’s debut season in 2003.  Aaron has been instructing percussion programs and teaching private lessons for the past five years and has worked with a number of fall and winter drumline programs, including; John Glenn High School (1999 – 2002), G-Force Percussion Theatre (2000 bronze medalist PSA, 2002 Silver Medalist PIA), Novi High School (2002, 2003 Gold Medalist PSO) and Livonia Franklin High School (2002 -2003).   As a member, Aaron Performed with the East Side Fury Percussion ensemble in 2002 and 2003. With the Fury he earned a Gold Medal (2002), and a Silver Medal (2003) at the MCGC State Finals, and a Bronze Medal at the WGI World Championships (2002 - PIO). Aaron has continued his relationship with the Fury by serving as a Batterie Tech for the 2003/2004 season.

Currently, in addition to working full time, Aaron is attending school to become an elementary school teacher.  He still teaches fall drumline at Livonia Franklin High School and enjoys every minute of it.  He hopes to continue with Motor City Percussion for years to come, and keep teaching the Metro Detroit area percussion students how to drum, perform, and love music.  Aaron Swick is a member of the Vic Firth Educational Team.
